British Superbike Assen 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most important rounds of the season. With the Showdown looming and championship points tighter than a brand new glove, Round 9 at the legendary TT Circuit could easily be the weekend that defines who lifts the title come the end of the year.
Why the British Superbike Assen round matters more than most
Assen is not just any circuit. It has been hosting top-level motorcycle racing since 1925, and every blade of tarmac there has a story behind it. The TT Circuit rewards riders who commit fully through its long, sweeping corners and punishes those who hesitate. For BSB machinery, the combination of high-speed sections and technical chicanes makes it one of the most demanding stops on the calendar.

Watch the riders at the sharp end of the standings very carefully here. Assen tends to sort the ones who can manage tyres over a full race distance from the ones who push too hard early and fade. Whoever gets their head straight on Saturday qualifying is usually the one celebrating on Sunday evening.
The Supersport class is also worth your attention. BSB Supersport racing is properly hard fought and Assen gives them room to actually race rather than just follow the bike in front. Some of the overtakes you will see in that class are better than anything in the headline act.
