Cardo steps into smart helmets: BEYOND GTS (carbon) and GT (fibreglass) revealed

The headline

Cardo Systems – best known for bolt-on intercoms – has announced its first fully integrated smart helmets: the premium BEYOND GTS and the more affordable BEYOND GT. Both are full-face road lids with Cardo’s comms hardware pre-installed, launching publicly around EICMA with availability targeted for summer 2026.

Shells & safety

  • GTS: lightweight carbon-fibre shell with multi-density EPS.
  • GT: fibreglass-composite shell and a rear reflector for added visibility.
  • Both are full-face designs aimed at touring/road riders.

Built-in tech (no add-ons required)

The BEYOND lids integrate Cardo’s comms suite from the factory, including Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) intercom with a quoted range of up to around 2 km, Bluetooth connectivity, and hands-free voice control. They also debut Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) to reduce ambient noise, driving a pair of extra-large 53 mm speakers developed by Cardo’s in-house sound team.

Further features flagged across launches and early briefings include emergency/crash-sensing functions and a helmet health monitoring system designed to keep tabs on the electronics.

Comfort & rider-friendly touches

  • Internal sun visor and a new top-grade Pinlock 200 insert to fight fogging.
  • 3D foam comfort liner.
  • Manufactured in a plant that also produces lids for several premium brands, according to Cardo’s launch partners.

Positioning & timeline

The pitch is simple: remove the faff of separate units and wires by baking Cardo’s flagship comms into a road-ready shell. Expect the GTS to sit at the top with the carbon build and added kit, while the GT aims for a keener price with the core tech intact. Deliveries are currently indicated for summer 2026; regional pricing and certifications are to be confirmed.

Lid Life take

On paper, this looks like the logical next step for Cardo – fewer boxes stuck to the shell, cleaner aerodynamics, and audio designed around the helmet from day one. If the ANC and 53mm speakers perform on the road as promised, they could shift expectations for touring lids. We’ll be first in line to put UK-spec helmets through winter miles the moment samples land.
