Shelsley Walsh Bike Bonanza 2026
Shelsley Walsh Bike Bonanza – A Proper Day Out for Bike Fans
Saturday 4th July 2026
Sun’s out, bikes out… and if you fancy a proper day surrounded by the sound of engines bouncing off a historic hillside, the Shelsley Walsh Bike Bonanza should definitely be on your radar.
Held at the famous Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb in Worcestershire, Bike Bonanza is a full-throttle celebration of motorcycles, speed, and good old fashioned biker atmosphere. It’s one of those events where you arrive for a quick look around… and somehow end up staying all day chatting bikes, watching runs up the hill, and wondering if you should have brought your own machine along for a go.
The Thrill of the Hill
The heart of the event is the hill climb itself. Shelsley Walsh is one of the oldest motorsport venues in the world, and during Bike Bonanza the famous hill becomes a playground for more than 100 motorcycles competing for the fastest time.
You’ll see everything from classic machines and modern bikes to road-legal entries battling it out on the narrow and challenging course. It all builds toward the end-of-day run-off, where the fastest riders go head-to-head for overall honours.
And unlike some race meetings where you’re miles away from the action, Shelsley Walsh keeps things up close. You can wander the paddock, get a proper look at the bikes, and soak up the smells and sounds that only a group of enthusiastic bikers can create.
More Than Just Racing
The racing might be the main event, but Bike Bonanza is much more than bikes blasting up a hill.
The day includes:
- Star bike displays and demonstrations
- Bike clubs gathering and showing off their machines
- Trade stands and gear stalls
- Live music and interviews
- Plenty of food and drink to keep riders fuelled
There’s a real community vibe to the whole thing. Bike clubs are welcomed right into the heart of the event, with dedicated parking and discounted tickets for groups who register together.
In other words, it’s less “stand behind the fence and watch” and more “wander about chatting bikes with strangers who quickly become mates.”
Fancy Having a Go Yourself?
Here’s the fun bit. Bike Bonanza isn’t just for spectators. Riders can actually take part in the hill climb with day licences available for those who fancy testing themselves and their bike on the legendary course.
We’re not saying you’ll beat the pros… but imagine being able to say you’ve ridden the historic Shelsley Walsh hill. That’s the kind of story that gets repeated at every café stop for the next ten years.
The Charity Ride-In
Another highlight is the celebrity-led charity ride-in. Riders meet at Strensham Services on the M5 before heading out on a scenic route through Worcestershire, eventually rolling into the event together.
Even better, participants get the rare chance to parade their bikes up the famous hill climb itself. Not a bad way to arrive at an event.
The ride also supports the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, helping fund the lifesaving work they do across the region.
Make a Weekend of It
If you fancy stretching the event out a bit, camping is available on the Friday and Saturday nights, with space for tents, caravans, and motorhomes.
That means you can roll in, set up camp, and spend the evening talking bikes with other riders. Probably followed by the traditional biker routine of “just one more look at the bikes” before turning in.

A Proper Biker Day Out
Events like Bike Bonanza are what the riding community is all about. Bikes of every shape and size, riders swapping stories, and the shared buzz of seeing machines pushed to their limits.
Whether you’re there for the racing, the ride-in, the bikes, or just the excuse for a ride out with your mates, it’s the kind of day that reminds you why we all started riding in the first place.
And if you spot the perfect bike while chatting to other riders… well, that’s what the Lid Life classifieds are for. You can even list your bike for free if the garage is getting a bit crowded. Just saying.
Whatever you ride, events like this are a brilliant excuse to grab your lid, meet up with a few mates, and take the long way there.
See you at the hill.
