Suzuki GSX-8T and GSX-8TT pick up Red Dot design award

The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT have done what their fully-faired sibling managed before them; walked away with a Red Dot Award in the Product Design category. The recognition comes out of Germany, and it puts the whole 776cc platform firmly in the spotlight.

The Red Dot Design Award has been running since 1955, which makes it one of the longer-standing design accolades in the industry. Winning one isn’t nothing. The GSX-8R took home the same gong earlier, and now the two touring-oriented models have followed suit, which suggests Suzuki’s design team is doing something consistently right across the range.

Under the bodywork, both bikes share the same parallel twin that powered the GSX-8R to victory in the 2025 Pirelli National Sportbike Championship. Figures are 82bhp and 57.5 lb-ft of torque – not ferocious, but well-suited to the kind of riding these bikes are actually built for.

On the subject of well-suited, pricing has recently had a look at itself. Both the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT went through a price realignment in the UK, dropping £1,000 each. The GSX-8T now sits at £8,599 and the GSX-8TT at £8,899. That’s a more honest position for what they are.

Takashi Ise, Suzuki’s Managing Officer and Executive General Manager of motorcycle operations, said the two models “appeal both the unique and attractive elements of Suzuki’s past iconic models, and modern performance,” and that they’re designed to cover everything from daily use to touring.

The GSX-8S naked rounds out the platform, making four bikes now sharing the same engine family. Not a bad hand to be playing.
